Climate factors for a property portfolio, now and in 2050

Upload a list of sites and get, for each one, heating and cooling degree-days, hot days, tropical nights and the ASHRAE climate zone for the last 10 years and for 2050, with the range across climate models. One table and a CSV for ESG reporting, transition-risk screening and capital planning.

Sample result: nine US cities

Daily data 2016-2025 against 2050 under SSP2-4.5 (median of five climate models). Degree-days in °F-days at base 65 °F, with the change in heating and cooling degree-days; hot days have a maximum of 35 °C (95 °F) or more.

The pattern is the same everywhere: heating demand falls by roughly a tenth to a fifth, cooling demand rises by a tenth to more than a half, and the coolest cities see the largest relative rise in cooling. That matters for equipment sizing, energy budgets and stranding-risk pathways that assume today's degree-days.

What you get for each site

Mean temperature; heating and cooling degree-days (°C and °F bases); cooling degree-days above 10 °C; days above 30 and 35 °C; nights above 20 °C; frost days; and the ASHRAE 169 climate zone. Each for the last 10 years and for 2050 under SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5, with the model range, in one table and one CSV.

Going deeper on one site

For a single building, future-climate EnergyPlus weather files (EPW, with DDY and STAT) let you simulate the building itself in 2050, and the data-centre comparison gives free-cooling hours for cooling-dominated sites.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the numbers come from?

The last 10 years of daily temperature and precipitation at each site, and the change five climate models project for 2035-2064, applied only for the warming still to come after the observed years. The median of the five models is shown with the range.

How many sites can I run?

Up to 3 sites free with a free account. Paid accounts run up to 100 sites at 1 credit per 10 sites, with a CSV export for your own reporting.

Which climate zone standard is used?

ASHRAE 169: the thermal number from cooling degree-days above 10 °C and heating degree-days below 18 °C, and the moisture letter from monthly temperature and precipitation. Zones are computed from the recent climate, so some sites move a zone against the published tables.

Is this a physical climate risk assessment?

It covers the heat and energy side: how heating and cooling demand and extreme heat change at each site. It does not cover flood, wind or wildfire hazard.
